Technology Marketing Weekly Wrap-Up

Another short week but very productive...

What I Planned To Do
I was hoping with a short week, I would be able to get caught up on some older calls and other details but no such luck. I didn't even get a newsletter out today so that will get out Monday morning.

What Was Done
There were 3 demos with new prospects completed this week, two Truckload and one LTL. One is longer term and another is a very small sale but it's better to have these new sales in than nothing much at all.

We (Sales team) started looking at revamping the main page on the web site to be more attractive to prospects. This is part of an ongoing campaign to increase MTI's visibility on Web Searches. We currently partake in Google's AdWords campaign and recently increased our spending limit there to hopefully increase more searches. Next week, we will likely start paying to be part of Overture's Paid Searching returns. Overture runs the search engines for MSN, Yahoo and others so while the cost may be a bit higher it should give better results.

A lot of internal work was done at Four Truckers and PDQ regarding messaging. Both of these companies didn't even go to sleep over the holidays and as a result, have required a lot of customizations. All for a good cause though. Four Truckers got their first PACOS dispatch sent out today and Eric and I will be tracking it through on Monday. On PDQ's end, there are some synchronization issues with the Aether messaging and Joe is adamnant that everything has to match 100%, so much so that this pushes back his Circle of Service integration. On a more positive note on their end, the Aether services for messaging in Dispatch are really very cool. They had some dispatchers complaining that their messages weren't going out and now they can not only see when they were received but also when they were read, right from within Dispatch.

I'm not going to go through the various support calls but needless to say, there was quite a bit of reporting work, researching work and basic Q&A done this past week. The sales team also started going over the sales goals for the first quarter to identify what we need to do to get it done. Basically with a sales target of $150,000 for the first quarter, (50K a month), we've got to make sure there are lots of "seeds" out there that may turn into real revenue.

Why I Didn't Get Other Stuff Done
Read what was done and hopefully you can appreciate it.

What's Coming In The New Week
One of the demos from last week hit a spark for a great mapping demo. MapTuit will also be sending me integration information (they haven't been available this week) so we can see about linking with them as well.

Updated Procedure plans. If anyone from Support or Dev has any comments on what was sent out two weeks ago, please send it to me. The sales and marketing stuff is being updated based on our new goals.

Two new formats for weekly newsletters that will hopefully result in more information being read by customers.
